| Equal Exchange and the Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America (BPFNA) are proud to announce their new fair trade partnership. The partnership was agreed upon in May of 2011, and is currently welcoming new congregations! With the addition of BPFNA, Equal Exchange now has partnerships with twelve faith-based organizations. Even before this recent partnership was agreed upon, the Interfaith Program at Equal Exchange counted more than 140 Baptist congregations among its customers. The new partnership was created in collaboration with a number of Baptist organizations, and welcomes the support of all Baptists! Baptist customers who participate in the Project will be able to purchase fairly traded coffee, chocolate, tea, olive oil and snacks at wholesale prices when they buy by the case, and a portion of their purchases will help to support BPFNA's educational programs. According to its mission statement, "The Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America gathers, equips and mobilizes Baptists to build a culture of peace rooted in justice..." BPFNA's emphasis on peace rooted in justice makes it a natural partner for Equal Exchange, an organization that's been working for economic and environmental justice for over twenty-five years.
